What? No Fish?

Sometimes my dad and I like to go to a local restaurant called Sopa's on Fridays. This time, we experienced something we never had experienced before! The restaurant ran out of fish for the Fish Friday special! Whaaaat?

Fish Fridays is an all you can eat special. My dad and I usually just have the initial serving, which is enough for us. The fish is battered and fried and served with fries, cole slaw, and a dessert (usually pudding). You will get a complimentary chips and salsa, no matter what you order. This Friday, just as my dad and I arrived at the restaurant, they ran out of fish! I've lived here since 2012, and this is the first time my dad and I have ever experienced this.

We did ask our waitress what happened, and she said it was the craziest thing, that they had an unusual rush that day and somehow ran out. She agreed that it was highly unusual, and she doesn't recall it happening before. It was okay, though. I planned on having something other than fish that day anyway. My dad ended up having the Navajo taco and I had the open roast beef sandwich. My dad enjoyed his taco, and my open-faced sandwich was delicious! We joked around with the waitress about the fish, and she appreciated that we were not upset. Hey, we understand that sometimes things are out of your control. Why get upset? Stuff happens!

If you ever happen to be in Los Lunas, be sure to visit Sopa's in nearby Bosque Farms. They have friendly staff and good food. Have not had a bad experience there! And they close for most holidays! For example, last Thanksgiving, they closed for Thanksgiving and the day after so their staff could enjoy time with their families, and they closed for Christmas too! I thought that was very nice of the owners to do and I made a point to say so. I do not go there a lot, but I always enjoy it when I do.
